Today is January 6th, 2014, 49 days after the launch of my podcast.
Countdown: 7 days left in iTunes New and Noteworthy
This post will be the final one until the day before my podcast drops from New and Noteworthy in iTunes. I will be busy trying to figure out how to put the entire 8-week journey into an infographic for the last day.
I know nothing about infographics, except that they look cool and can convey a lot of information. But I want one, so I’m going to do what I can!
One recent change I made to things is updating my website to now include new podcasts on the front page. So now I mix blog posts and podcast posts on the main page of my site. I love how it looks. It’s just so much cleaner. I’ll be updating the site over the coming weeks to try and make it super easy to navigate to find what you need. Otherwise, I’m happy with the results so far. Plus soon, I’ll be adding video to make it worth visiting!

Most of the day, the show was not even close to #1. Yesterday’s download numbers catching up to iTunes now perhaps?

- January 1st: 900 downloads
- January 2nd: 1474 downloads
- January 3rd: 2234 downloads (!)
- January 4th: 1442 downloads
- January 5th: 2129 downloads

Total downloads to date: 43,698 (was 40,036 four days ago)
Would love to finish New and Noteworthy with a bang! Looks like I’m on my way to doing just that. With only a week left, I’ve got some thinking to do on how I want to handle the the podcast cliff of N & N – The 8 week expiration point where a podcast in this section gets the boot. Crossing my fingers for What’s Hot!
As the end nears, I welcome a new beginning. I shall remember all the lessons I learned along the way (mainly because most of them are in these posts!). But I’m looking forward to working with some real data when I’m no longer on the front page. Every download and ranking is a tease, and not actual. However, iTunes is a great gauge on how popular a show can be. Knowing that the show is at least tolerable to the thousands downloading it, I know that I can continue along the same path and still have positive results from my efforts.
Otherwise, time to get working on this weekend’s show. I’m a little behind!
